THE market slipped $15 to $20 a head at the Dubbo goat sale on Tuesday last week.
PT Lord, Dakin and Associates agent Joe Portelli said about 1300 head of goats were offered with the bulk of the yarding sourced from the Mudgee and Wellington areas.
"There were also some smaller runs from western areas such as Nyngan," Mr Portelli said.
"Buyer competition was also limited due to the absence of two or three buyers which would normally attend from Sydney."
He said the COVID-19 restrictions accounted for the Sydney buyers not attending.

However, there was added restocker interest due to the recent rain and pasture growth.
"The strength of the cattle and sheep markets have some people looking at alternatives, such as goats, to buy in," he said.
Boer nannies ranged from $140 to $305 and averaged $240.
The Boer wethers attracted bids from $80 to $240 and averaged $140.
Bush billies sold from $60 to $180 and averaged $130, while bush nannies ranged from $65 to $130 and averaged $100.
Mr Portelli said restocker goats averaged $65 across a range of $40 to $100.
Sale highlights included Harry and Maria Sourelos, Dunedoo, selling Boer nannies for a top of $305 and Boer wethers for $240.
Mark Sutton, Hargraves, sold bush billies for $170.
