Classified bulls sold to new event record highs of $130,000 to post a new breed record average of $21,212 at yesterday's annual Santa Central sale, Clifton.

In a classic example of demand, sale openers of 32 led 'S' bulls topped at $130,000 to record an average of $36,109.

Their 69 unled classified counterparts sold to $110,000 to post an average of $14,304.

Combined, the entire offering of 101 classified bulls set the new benchmark for the Santa Gertrudis breed of $21,212.

At auction there was a 93 per cent clearance of the male catalogue. After-sale activity saw a complete clearance attained.

Market topper at $130,000 was the 23-month-old, 1035 kilogram, Bullamakinka Rocky R82 (P) offered by Craig Hindle, Bullamakinka stud, Toobeah.

Rocky was the junior champion at Beef 2021 and posted a daily gain of 1.43kg per day. Securing the top seller were Robert, Lorraine and Andrew Sinnamon, RL Pastoral, Baryulgil, New South Wales.

Next best at $120,000 was the lot prior to the eventual sale topper, Glenn Oaks Rubbel R36 (PS).

At 23-months, the son of Diamond H Renegade R47 (P) weighed 973 kilograms and sold to Scott and Rebecca Dunlop, Dunlop stud, Proston.

A paternal half brother to the $120,000 Rubbel R36 (PS) was the top selling unled 'S' bull in the form of the $110,000 Glenn Oaks Q144 (P).

Q144 at 27-months weighed 992 kilograms and posted an average daily gain of 1.17kg per day, selling to Matthew Way, Kilcock stud, Deniliquin, NSW.

Across the board, 19 females averaged $8684 to sell to a top of $18,000 on two occasions.

First of these was the 29-month-old breeder unit, Glenn Oaks Quin Q47 (P) (Diamond H Renegade R47 (P)) with a heifer calf at side that sold to the Watts Family Trust, Ropeley.

The other to make the same amount was the maiden heifer, Goolagong Reign R28 (AI) (P) aged 18-months.

Offered by the Tiller family, Goolagong stud, Warnertown, South Australia, the daughter of Goolagong Nitro N256 (ET) (AI) (P) sold to Norm Black, Ayredale stud, Federal, NSW.
