BEAUTIFUL spring sunshine welcomed buyers to Calga Dohne stud's annual ram sale on Wednesday.
A strong crowd of bidders from across the state gathered at the Coonamble Showgrounds to get their hands on the 78 rams offered by the Coonamble operation.
All 78 rams were snapped up at an average of $1638 as repeat buyers took out majority of the draft.
Long time supporters of the sale, MJ and SL Webb, Miagunyah, Warrambungle, secured the winning bid for the sale's top price ram, lot 74, Uardry Dohne ram UC200609 for $4400.
The 17-month-old ram was rated 188 on the Dohne Plus Index, as well as in the top 10 per cent of the breed for clean fleece weight (YCFW) and had a post weaning weight (PWT) of 9.8kg.

The top price of $4400 was up from last year's top of $4000, which was achieved twice.
The top seller was among 10 purchased by the Webbs at an average of $2140.
Other volume buyers included Argilla Pastoral, Nyora, Coonamble, eight rams at an average of $1262, the Cosgrove family, Lauriston, Warren,10 rams at an average of $1750, Cosgrove Farming Trust, Wirrlahlee, Warren, eight rams at an average of $1475 and P and C Scoles, Rugby, Lightning Ridge, 10 rams at an average of $1030.
The sale was conducted by Elders Coonamble with Lincoln McKinlay, Elders, Inverell, auctioneering.
