It was another strong store sale at Wodonga on Thursday, with close to 1500 head of cattle selling to a top price of $2660 for yearling Angus steers, while all breeds were attracting more than $2000 for 280kg weaners.
Corcoran Parker agent Leigh McEvoy said prices were fairly firm on their last sale a fortnight ago and there was good quality on offer.
"We had some big, heavy feeder steers selling from 575 to 580 cents a kilogram, there was some nice lines of those steers," Mr McEvoy said.

There were few cows and calves on offer but what was there made from $2300 to $3950. Cows sold from $2420 to $2610 and the couple of pens of pregnancy-tested-in-calf heifers sold from $1800 to $2480.
There was plenty of weight in the yarding and yearling steers weighing 400kg and above mostly sold from $2200 to $2600.
The top pen of steers, 15 Angus, 16 to 18-months-old, weighing a 475kg average and offered by IJ and LH Tyrell, Corryong, Vic, sold for $2660.
Most weaner steers, weighing between 300kg and 400kg, made from $2000 to $2300, a price paid for 16 Angus, 11 to 12 months, Dunoon blood, weighing 391kg from JC and JM Maddock, Staghorn Flat, Vic.
There were several large lines of quality Herefords for buyers to pick from, including 31 weighing 424kg offered by Macleod Pastoral, Wallangra Park, Jingellic, which sold for $2350.
Charolais cattle were also a feature of the sale and a pen of 14 from Yeramba Pastoral, Tallangatta Valley, Vic, weighing 336kg, sold for $2190.
The same vendors offered a second pen of 17, 285kg, which sold for $2070 to return 726c/kg.
It was one of plenty of pens of steers weighing around 200kg which made more than $2000 and upwards of 738c/kg.
The Heifer job was competitive with most articles making from $1700 to $2000. Mr McEvoy said prices were getting close to on par with steers.
The top price of $2240 was paid for three Angus heifers weighing 419kg.
There were 14 Angus heifers from Macleod Pastoral, weighing 365kg, which sold for $2110.
A feature run of 111 Hereford heifers, weighing between 288kg and 341kg, from account M and S Trewin, Barcoo Ridge, Bungil, Vic, made from $1720 to $2030, attracting a top of 607c/kg.
There was the usual field of commission buyers and local restockers operating.
The sale was conducted by Wodonga/Albury-based agents BUR, Corcoran Parker, Schubert Boers and Peter Ruaro.
