Calga Dohne stud principal Sandy Pye was pleased with their annual sale results when 77 rams sold to an average of $2198.
The top price of $5200 was reached twice for two rams that were sold to return buyer Coonong Station, Urana at the 8th annual southern production Dohne Sale at Caroonboon, Wanganella.
They purchased DJ201164, which is in the top 10 per cent in the breed for post weaning weight (PWT) at 7.8, yearling clean fleece weight (YCFW) at 17.4, number of lambs weaned (NLW) 10 per cent and Dohne Plus Index 179.2.

CA200637 also made the $5200 top money and was in the top 10pc in the breed for PWT 7.9, number of lambs weaned NLW 13pc, Dohne Plus Index 177.3.
There were 20 registered buyers with strong bidding on AuctionsPlus resulting in 77 of the 82 rams that went under the hammer sold for a 94 per cent clearance rate.
In the breakdown Calga Dohnes averaged $2557, DD Dohnes averaged $2271 and Uardry Dohnes averaged $1682.

"We were pleased with the result and clearance and it was promising to see return buyers come back year after year," Mr Pye said.
"There are exciting times ahead for next year as we will be joining again the highest indexing sire in Australia CA173301."
Return buyer Angus Yelps from Yurdyilla, who purchased four rams ranging from $1400 to $2800, have been repeat buyers since 2002.
Mr Yelps said they had focused on the Dohne for their large frame as well as doability when the seasons were less favourable.
"They do well in our climate and grow into nice ewes that have good fertility and mothering ability," Mr Yelps said.
Other repeat buyers and volume buyers included Wayne and Hugh Caldow from Edenhope, Vic, Les and Coleen Tumpey from Tottenham, Jawbone Station, Moulamein, C and S Spiers from Echuca, Vic, and Cathcart Edengower Deniliquin.
