A NEW national online record price was set for Merino ewe lambs last week when a line of 89 ewes sold on AuctionsPlus for $398 a head.
Lindsay and Dawn Hough, Wattleglen, Wuuluman, sold the September/October 2020-drop ewes as part of a flock dispersal.
The Mumblebone-blood ewe lambs tipped the scales at 43 kilograms. They had 17.5-micron wool on their back and cut 2.5 kilograms of wool at their March shearing.
Selling agent Tim Beach, Ray White Livestock, Dubbo, said the results come off the back of a great on-farm sale at Mumblebone last week.
"I believe in the current robust market, you will be more than likely rewarded with a result beyond expectations," he said.

"That is exactly what we achieved with this sale, which is a real credit to the Hough's operation and their genetic selections for wool links and brightness."
Meanwhile, heavy White Suffolk lambs broke the Australian lamb record at Wagga Wagga last week when they sold for $399.20.
The top lambs were in a pen of 77 snapped up by Fletcher International.
They were White Suffolks sold by the Douglas family, Cora-Lynn, Kikoira.
The 11- to 12-month-old lambs, which were the tail-end of the Douglas family's old season lambs, averaged an estimated 45 kilograms (carcase weight).
