ALL aspects of the cropping industry will be covered in a new podcast recently launched by the industry's peak body.
GrainGrowers launched its State of the Grains Industry podcast last week, in conjunction with its State of the Grains Industry report, which is released every five years.
Included in the maiden episode is the views of Peter and Nigel Corish, Federal Agriculture Minister David Littleproud and Cheryl Kalisch Gordon.
The episode is the first of a weekly series and covers the topics featured in the report such as a rise in pulses with a surge in volume and value of production as well as growers pivoting from export markets to domestic consumption during the recent drought.
Areas included in the report the variety of grains grown across Australia as well as where Australian grain goes, trends, threats and opportunities.

"While this report shares the data and statistics of the past five years, what it doesn't include is the stories of the farmers who produce this grain," GrainGrowers chair Brett Hosking said in the report.
"To hear those stories you need to dive a little deeper into the lives of the women and men who each day combine the latest research and innovation with their skill, knowledge and application to produce better crops each year.
"These stories speak of farmers who thrive on the challenge of understanding weather, markets, science, climate trends, logistics, political trends and combine this with practical on farm decision making and application which ensures our grains industry will be pivotal in achieving Australian Agriculture's vision of $100 billion by 2030.
"With a return to better seasonal conditions, larger production and new market opportunities we're optimistic about the future of the Australian grains industry and the contribution it will make to Australia's future success."
The 112-page report covers all aspects of the industry from across Australia over the past five years and is available on the GrainGrowers website.
