Harvest will be halted for at least seven days as a deep rain-bearing weather system moves in to NSW and Queensland on Wednesday with heavy rain and possible major flooding possible in northern river areas.

A flood alert with possible major flooding has been issued for several northern NSW rivers as a deep trough and low pressure weather system move into the state today dropping over 100mm in many areas.
