With a combined 40 years of experience in the stock and station agent industry, Patrick Purtle along with Samuel Plevey have recently made the decision to make Dubbo saleyards their newest business venture and selling location.
The agency was established by Mr Purtle along with Mr Plevey's father, Bill Plevey, with the purchase of the V.J. Flett Pty Ltd and V.J. Byrnes and Co agencies in 1997. The two companies were combined to form Purtle Plevey Agencies Pty Ltd, Manilla.
Adding Dubbo to its selling locations was an easy decision for the company as it provides a central selling point.
"The expansion is beneficial from both a buying and selling point as it provides more options and access to new markets" Mr Plevey said.
This means Purtle Plevey Agencies will now operate from three well-supported centres, the others being Tamworth and Gunnedah.
"We have a lot of clients in the North West of NSW, and at times we want to send stock to Dubbo so now we have the avenue to do that," he said.
'It is a good move for the future and provides our clients with a unique coverage to three of the best markets in NSW that all have their strengths (and) we can choose what is best for our clients and that is what it is all about," Mr Purtle said.
"We won't have a business front in Dubbo, but we will have people permanently based in the town, which will give us [Patrick and Samuel] flexibility to travel back and forth.
"Operations will continue to run out of the Manilla office as our nerve centre is here," Mr Purtle said.
The agency has already begun operating in the Dubbo saleyards.
"We have been well enough received and the other agents have all been very welcoming," Mr Purtle said.
Although the business is growing rapidly, Mr Purtle said it would be the same model.
