THE annual three-day run of weaner sales at Wodonga offers the perfect opportunity for cattle producers and other industry players to not only catch-up after Christmas, but also get a gauge on how market prices will open in 2022.
While there were plenty of buyers and vendors at the sale on Thursday, there were also numerous local cattle producers keen to inspect the runs of cattle carrying a range of beef bloodlines.
The sale results were solid although not as red-hot as the top of the market the day prior.
Genuine Angus weaner steers averaged $2300 to $2400 reaching a top of $2540 during the second day of new year weaner sales at Wodonga this week.
