Baillieu and Sarah Myer with the 1919 Melbourne cup won by a horse trained by Sarah's grandfather Sam Hordern, Yulgilbar founder, next to the 2019 Melbourne cup, made from $250,000 worth of polished gold. The presentation created a small diversion from the actual Yulgilbar sale of that year. Mr Myer will be well remembered for his love of the upper Clarence station and its historic castle.

The generous and philanthropic owner by marriage of the iconic Yulgilbar Station, Baillieu Myer, has died aged 96 after a short illness. He will be remembered for his keen support for the grazing property, its lineage of Santa Gertrudis genetics and a very rich history, which he sought to preserve.
