A pen of Angus Verified weaner steers, nine months old from Mackas Pastoral topped the Gloucester store sale on Thursday with a bid of $2410 going to repeat buyers.
There were 2350 head offered, one of the best yardings in a long time according to agents, with bought cattle headed to NSW and Victorian buyers with volume purchasers the Kennedy family from Warren who took home more than a few decks.
Cross bred steers brought from $1650 for the lighter Charolais and Euro breeds to $2200 for Limousin steers, 10 to 11months from Rob and Ruth McIntosh at Stratford.
Angus weaner steers made $1500 to $2250; cross bred steer weaners $1300 to $2050.
Angus weaner heifers brought $1250 to $2100; cross bred heifer weaners returned from $1200 to $1900.
Gooch Agencies sold Angus steer weaners for Malcolm Sopher of Gloucester for $2250 headed to Coonamble through AJF Brien.
MRW Rural of Monkerai sold a run of 33 Angus/Santa steers for $2050 to Alexander Downs of Merriwa. MRW also sold a pen of Santa/Hereford heifer calves for $1875 to Gloucester High School.
Barry Griffis of Bulahdelah sold Angus steer calves for $2170 to the Kennedy family of Warren through Bowe and Lidbury of Maitland.
Tigrah Pastoral of Bretti sold a terrific line of Angus heifer calves with Knowla blood for $2100 to Weemilah heifers of Gloucester.
The sale was hosted by combined agencies at Gloucester.
