PETE and Trina Redgwell of Heartland Red Angus stud, Tamworth were pleased with the broad ribbon win in the female judging of the 2014 Red Angus National Show and Sale at Dubbo this morning.
Their 14-month-old Heartland Fat Una (AI) was awarded junior and grand champion female by judge, Christie Kennedy of Pine Creek and Black Diamond Angus studs, Bylong, with associate judge, Aimee Bolton of Bolton Girls Red Angus stud, Shepparton, Victoria.
The sale of females, semen and embryo packages and bulls commences today at 1pm at Dubbo Showground.
Bull judging classes were also conducted this morning. Twenty-one month-old Wollumbi HI Star (ET) shown by Peter Weis and David Croker, Wollumbi red Angus, Marulan, was awarded junior and grand championship awards.
He stood against senior champion bull, Pine Villa Real Deal (AI)' shown by John Haycock and family, Pine Villa Red Angus, Yeoval.
A total of 10 stud females and 26 stud potential sires paraded before the Nationals judge, Christie Kennedy of Pine Creek and Black Diamond studs, Bylong, and associate judge Aimee Bolton of Bolton Girls Red Angus stud, Shepparton, Victoria.
