THE Hermidale community will host a hoedown to mark the Year of the Sheep and raise funds for the local public school.
Hermidale Public School students travel up to 80 kilometres a day to attend the small school with 10 students, located between Nyngan and Cobar in western NSW.
The Hoedown will kick off at 6.30pm on September 26 at the Hermidale Country Women's Association (CWA) Hall.
Music will be provided by the Nodding Thistles and guests are encouraged to wear their best bush dancing clothes.
Tickets are available on the night, at $15 for individuals and $40 for families.
The funds raised will go toward a school excursion for the students as well as helping to improve facilities.
