We all need time out from the stresses of daily life. Here is a free five-minute body scan meditation to boost your mental health, provided by Smiling Mind.
The body scan was developed by Smiling Mind’s mental health professionals as part of a not for profit initiative.
You can download the body scan at no cost from android and apple app stores, or visit Smiling Mind. To date, the app has reached 300,000 downloads.
The mindfulness meditation, as it is known, is simple, quick and easy.
It’s five minute a computer guided meditation program you can follow wither lying on your back on the floor, or just comfortably seated in a quiet place.
Body scan is aimed at bringing awareness of the different parts of the body, from the tips of the toes to the top of the head.
Smiling Mind said meditation like body scan can deliver benefits in as quickly as five days, helping with stress management, resilience, morale, awareness, creativity, productivity while exercising strengthening the brain.
