POLICE are investigating following the death of a child on a rural property in the Port Stephens area.
Emergency services were called to a property in Swan Bay at about 12.30pm on Sunday.
Police were met by a man who directed them to an injured eight-year-old boy.
It’s believed the man was driving the tractor when his grandson became trapped underneath.
Ambulance paramedics were called, but the boy died at the scene.
Police from Port Stephens Local Area Command will now prepare a report for the Coroner, outlining the full circumstances surrounding the child’s death.
