FORTY-THREE cyclists have embarked on a gruelling four-day venture in the hope of raising $100,000 to be split between three charities.
The annual Mill 2 Mill Charity Bike Ride will see the convoy cycle from the MSM Milling processing plant at Bomaderry to the Manildra Flour Mill, Manildra, stopping at small schools along the way to talk about the chosen charities.
Ride organiser and director of MSM Milling, Manildra Pete Mac Smith said he hoped to raise $100,000 from the event, which is in its third year, to split between the McGrath Foundation, beyondblue and local Manildra charities.
"We've supported the McGrath Foundation in all three years - it does a tremendous job helping those affected by breast cancer and their families, especially those living in rural areas," he said.
Following the loss of several young people in Manildra last year, Mr Mac Smith said a decision was made to include beyondblue in the list of charities.
