A SOUTH Australian family has made a touching video to celebrate Australia Day and the International Year of the Family Farming.
"My farm will always be my home" is a three-minute video made by 11-year-old Aimee Gladigau and her dad John.
Aimee takes the viewer on a journey around her family farm at Alawoona, South Australia, sharing the history, describing the present and pondering the future.
Mr Gladigau, who lives on the farm with wife, Bronny, Jayden (15) and Aimee, said the video was timed to coincide with Australia Day and the International Year of Family Farming.
Five years ago the Gladigaus ran 2000-hectare mixed farm "Bunyarra" in the Northern Mallee region of SA.
Mr Gladigau is a Nuffield scholar who then started a "collaborative" farm, which saw his family and another family put their farms together, lease some other land and create a company called Bulla Burra, which is now responsible for farming about 9000ha.
He said the concept of the family farm was engrained in the DNA of anyone that grew up on one.
