FEDERAL agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce wants Australians to eat more kangaroo.
The domestic market for kangaroo meat consists mostly of pet food and a small amount of human consumption.
"We really need to widen the market, away from the fitness market, and bring it more into general consumption," Mr Joyce said.
"All the fitness fanatics already love the stuff, but industry should promote better recipes that suit the meat for everyday people - curries and casseroles."
