BEDGERABONG Showgirl Stacey Webb, Blayney Showgirl Leia Chapman, and Cumnock Showgirl Lucy Watt will represent Zone 6 in the final of the 2015 The Land Sydney Royal Showgirl Competition in Sydney.
The Zone 6 final was hosted by Bathurst Show Society and drew 22 showgirls from across the region. They impressed the judges with their rural knowledge and passion for their local towns during interviews at the Bathurst Regional Council chambers and delighted the crowd onstage during the presentation dinner at Bathurst Panthers.
Bedgerabong Showgirl Stacey Webb is an oral health therapist at Dubbo who completed a Bachelor of Oral Health (Therapy/Hygiene) through Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga.
Stacey is passionate about rural health and wants to continue to promote oral health in rural communities. She plays touch football and lawn bowls, and enjoys swimming, reading and gardening.
Blayney Showgirl Leia Chapman is studying agribusiness management at Charles Sturt University and works as a stockperson with the Central Tablelands Livestock Exchange, Carcoar.
She has completed a Certificate III in Agriculture and a Certificate in Financial Services, is a junior netball coach and has played the game since she was five. Leia hopes to become an agribusiness financial planner upon completing her degree.
Cumnock Showgirl Lucy Watt is studying a PhD with the Faculty of Science at CSU, Wagga Wagga, following on from completing a Bachelor of Animal Science (Honours). Lucy enjoys swimming, hockey, touch football, yoga and cooking. On completing her PhD she would like to continue research in the area of ruminant nutrition and livestock production.
The final was judged by Agricultural Societies Council of NSW vice-president David Peters, Hartley; the 2009 The Land Sydney Royal Showgirl, Kimbalee Morris, Bathurst, and The Land Regionals editor Kim Chappell, Bilpin.
