NSW Farmers has set up a drought relief appeal to collect donations for farmers in the State affected by drought.
The appeal will make $100 IGA grocery gift cards available to farmers affected by drought.
With large areas of the state experiencing dry or drought conditions and with some people reporting their lowest rainfalls in over 60 years, failed seasons are causing severe financial hardship for farmers across NSW. Farmers face an ongoing battle of maintaining their farm and providing for their families.
One hundred per cent of all donations will go directly to drought affected farmers across NSW for the cost of groceries. Donated funds will be used to purchase $100 gift cards from IGA supermarkets. These cards will be provided to the Salvation Army for distribution through its rural chaplains to drought affected farmers in NSW. Farmers do not have to be a member of NSW Farmers to be able to receive a gift card.
