A LIGHT aircraft made an emergency landing at Oberon around 3pm on Monday afternoon, after the pilot was forced to restrain his passenger.

The plane left Bankstown Airport to travel to Cowra carrying onboard the 23-year-old pilot and his 82-year-old passenger. Police media reports that an incident occurred during the flight and the pilot was forced to restrain the passenger after a struggle.
No injuries were reported as a result of the forced landing, which was effected in a paddaock on Titania Road, but there was minor damage to the aircraft.
The 82-year-old man was taken to Westmead Hospital where he was treated for head and facial injuries. The pilot was taken to Oberon Hospital to be treated for shock.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are continuing.
