SNOW fell from Orange to Oberon this morning as a cold pool moved across the region.
Showers have come in bursts for Orange since Wednesday afternoon with a total of 23mm, however the air gradually cooled enough for a few centimetres of snow this morning.
Nearby, it was reported that Mt Conobolas received a dumping of 30cm on the peak where the air was below freezing for much longer.
Other places to pick up snow this morning were Oberon, Blayney, and the usual suspects along the Snowy Mountains.
A cold front moved across the Central Tablelands on Tuesday night, but the coldest air didn't arrive until this morning as a low formed off the NSW Coast.
This low directed southerly winds across the state, dragging the cold air north just in time for some morning snow.
The snow will be short lived for most of the Central Tablelands, with temperatures rising above freezing again during the morning.
Only the peaks like Mt Conobolas will still have snow into tomorrow.
The next chance for snow for the Central Tablelands is next week on Tuesday morning, however it is only a low chance at this stage behind a strong cold front.
