A St John's College, Dubbo, steer has taken out the top award in the school steers competition at Sydney Royal Show.
The winning steer and overall grand champion steer was Wilworril Jupiter exhibited by the school and owned by the Kirk family's Wilworril Limousin stud, Rylstone.
It weighed in at 628 kilograms.
The reserve school steer went to a Red Bend Catholic College, Buckmore Family, Bernamore Pastoral Company exhibit.
In the open steer categories the lightweight champion, weighing 386kg, was awarded a Limousin steer owned by Nigel and Casey Wieck, Delungra, and Alan Badior, Singleton.
Middleweight champion steer was awarded a 481kg steer owned by Chris Knox and Helen Alexander, DSK Charolais, Coonabarabran.
In the heavyweight division the champion went to a 646kg steer exhibited by The Scots School, Bathurst, Violet Hills Charolais.
