THREE bush fires are burning in the Pilliga East State Forest, approximately 30 kilometres south west of Narrabri.
The NSW Rural Fire Service, National Parks and Wildlife and Forestry Corporation are working on the blazes.
The biggest of the three fires, the Dangar Road fire, is producing large volumes of smoke, which is visible from the Newell Highway, Wee Waa, Narrabri, Bingara, Moree and Inverell.
The fire has burnt approximately 15,063 hectares and has an edge along the Newell Highway.
The Emu Road fire at Jack Scott Road, Gwabegar, has burnt more than 1297ha but is now contained, with firefighters patrolling the fireground overnight.
The Brigalow Road fire (at Wobbly Road, Gwabegar) has burnt 212ha and is now at Patrol status.
The fires have been flagged as advice level, which means there is no immediate danger.
At this point, no properties are at threat.
The RFS recommends staying up to date in case the situation changes.
