AN exhibition featuring woollen designs alongside artwork will open at Armidale's New England Regional Art Museum (NERAM) on Friday.
The Art of Wool exhibition brings together artworks from the nationally significant art collections held at NERAM and garments from the International Woolmark Prize (IWP) archive, owned by Australian Wool Innovation, the owners of Woolmark.
Artwork was drawn from NERAM's collection of Australian art to emphasise the significance of wool in Australian art.
The exhibition includes works by artists Howard Ashton, Elioth Gruner, H.A. Hanke, Sydney Long, Blamire Young, Conrad Martens and George W. Lambert.
The International Woolmark Prize ( IWP ) recognises outstanding rising fashion labels. Regional competitions are held around the world to choose finalists for the award, judged by high profile figures during the international autumn/winter collection shows.
The exhibition will run from May 1 to August 2.
