UPDATE
WOLLUMBI Hi Star H53 has matched the Australian record price paid for a Red Angus, selling for $22,000 at today's Red Angus National Sale, Dubbo.
Vendors Peter Weiss and David Croker, Wollumbi stud, Marulan, exhibited the 22-month-old bull, which took out the junior champion bull title before being sashed the grand champion bull by judge Christie Kennedy, Pine Creek and Black Diamond Angus stud, Bylong.
The bull was secured by Gavin and Kirrily Iseppi, GK stud, Dalby, Queensland, for $22,000 - the highest price ever paid for a Red Angus.
The sale finished with 15 bulls sold from 31 offered, to average $6300, while eight females sold from 10 offered at auction to average $5400 and top at $11,500.

While it was initially reported to be a record breaking prices, the $22,000 actually equals the auction record set by Oakleigh Park Rambo V54 purchased by Drayton Park Red Angus at the Oakleigh Park dispersal.
