FELIX Poll Dorset and White Suffolk rams sold to a top of $2250 at the stud's on-property sale yesterday.
While slightly disappointed at the sale result, stud principal Rodney Watt, Greenethorpe, said it had been a tough start on the rams.
In the breakdown, 141 Poll Dorset rams were offered, selling 132 for a 94 per cent clearance.
Poll Dorset rams sold to a top of $2250 with a 14-month-old ram stealing the show, purchased by Michael Edwards, "Goba Creek", Boorowa.
Poll Dorset rams averaged $1233, down by $100 on last year's results.
Thirty-six White Suffolk rams from 40 offered were sold, achieving a 90pc clearance.
White Suffolk rams topped at $1850, selling to West Australian buyer Garry Page, Bittleyonge Farm, Pingrup.
Whte Suffolk rams averaged $843, down by over $200 on last year's result.
The sale was conducted by Allan Gray and Company, Cowra with Bill Brien and Pat Waters sharing auctioneering duties.
