THIRTY out of 43 bulls sold to a top of $6500 at the Northern Limousin Breeders’ sale in Scone this afternoon.
The bulls available were from multiple vendors and averaged at $3041.
The nine lots of females offered averaged at $1937.
Four out of the nine lots of females on offer sold to a top of $2000 for a Polled King Creek Citron daughter.
Gary Hedger, “Garren Park”, Culcairn, bought the top bull from vendor Pat Ryan, Meriden Limousin stud, Merriwa.
The bull will be used to produce vealer calves for Mr Hedger’s production, who said it was an easy doing bull with good bloodlines.
MacCallum Inglis agent Stuart Sheldrake, Scone, said given the season, the market was where it was expected to be.
“Overall it was very tough, but the clearance rate was fair,” he said.
