LOCAL buyers pushed prices to $6500 at Rayleigh Poll Herefords 6th annual on-property sale near Burren Junction on Tuesday.
All 21 bulls offered sold to a top of $6500 and averaged $4342.
Commercial breeder, Brenton Collinson, Gwabegar, bought Lot 1, Rayleigh Jupiter J47 for the $6500 top-price.
The Whim Park Destroyer son tipped the scales at 994 kilograms and had estimated breeding values (EBVs) of +4.4 for birthweight, eye muscle area (EMA) of +1.9 and intramuscular fat (IMF) of +0.1.
At 25 months of age, the bull was complimented on its quite nature.
"This bull has loads of length and terrific balance" added Mr Collinson, who had been buying Rayleigh bulls for more than 20 years.
"He took my eye and should add some good weight into my weaner calves".
Rayleigh principal Jeff Holcombe was delighted with the sale result and pleased to see new and old faces in the crowd.
"After a few tough seasons, it's great to see a bit of confidence back in the game," he said.
The helmsman auction was settled by Landmark Narrabri.
