BULLYING and cyber bullying have been increasingly recognised as serious problems that affect millions of children and adolescents throughout the world.
Being continually victimised by peers can seriously affect the mental and physical health of targeted children and adolescents, in some cases lasting a lifetime.
The good news is there are things you can do about it if you, or if a mate or your child is being bullied.
Join the Friday Forum, online from 2pm on Friday, November 14, for a lively discussion on the impact of bullying on children and adolescents and find out ways you and your family can address the issue.
The expert panel will be ready to answer your questions about several important issues, including where to get help, how to tell if somebody is being bullied including cyber bullying, what to do about it, how to provide support for those being bullied, and how to talk about it.
The forum will be facilitated by panel members including former school teacher, psychologist, parent and academic and one of Australia's most prominent experts on bullying Professor Ken Rigby; Wollemi Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, Orange Health Service senior social worker Naomi Lavery; Young and Well Co-operative Research Centre Youth Brains Trust advocate Cassandra Prigg; and Kids Help Line counselling centre counsellor, trainer and acting assistant manager Alexandra Curtis.
The Friday Forum is a joint initiative of The Land and the Rural Adversity Mental Health Program (RAMHP).
Do you have a question for the panel? You can ask on the day or submit your questions ahead of time.
If you don't feel comfortable joining the discussion, you can still follow the conversation.
