INDUSTRY gave the brand new sheep saleyards at Dubbo Regional Livestock Markets high praise after yesterday's inaugural sale.
Vendors, buyers and agents of the brand new sheep saleyards gave the endorsement at the conclusion of the first lamb sale yesterday, where some 9000 crossbred lambs were yarded and sold in the total yarding of 37,330 sheep.
Lambs totalled 23,800 while 13,530 mutton were sold, up in totals by 14,100 head on last week.
However, prices remained fairly firm and slightly back from that week which lifted in values by $6 to $8 a head overall.
The first pen which made the sale’s top price at $172.20 was for 132 second cross lambs, 10 months of age bred and sold by Bugabadah Pastoral Pty Ltd, Collie, by Christie and Hood and bought by Jason Weber, Thompsons Food International, Tamworth.
