NSW Farmers elect new executive council
NSW Farmers has voted in its new executive for 2015/16.
- Corowa mixed-farmer Derek Schoen has been elected president of NSW Farmers, replacing Fiona Simson who steps down.
- Senior vice president Mark Horan was returned for a fourth year. Mr Horan and his wife operate a beef cattle enterprise at "Bedervale", Braidwood.
- Peter Wilson and Wayne Dunford were voted in as vice presidents. Mr Wilson, an executive councillor for region three (centred in Dubbo) has never served as vice president, while it's the second but not consecutive time Mr Dunford, an executive councillor for region 12 (also known as the Western Division), has been elected.
- Mr Dunford has served on the board for the past four years.
- Rylstone mixed farmer David Clarke was re-elected as treasurer unopposed.
- The four additional board members elected were Richard Chamen, Mitchell Clapham, James Jackson, and Helen Dalton.
Pastoral and agricultural councillors for the 13 regions were also elected as follows:
- Region 1: Cameron Rowntree, Elizabeth Tomlinson, Rob Eassie, Rebecca Reardon, (chairman Stuart Gall)
- Region 2: Sonia O'Keefe, James Jackson, David Mailler, Brent McLeod, (chairman Archie Cameron)
- Region 3: Rod Young, Angus Atkinson, Tom Cullen, Terry Fishpool, chairman Peter Wilson)
- Region 4: Laurie Chaffey, Chris Kemp, Richard Chamen, Tony Hegarty, (chairwoman Melissa Gamble)
- Region 5: Lisa Minogue, John Minogue, Gavin Tom (plus one vacancy)
- Region 6: Andrew Martel, Mitchell Clapham, Reg Kidd, Graham Brown, (chairman John Lowe)
Region 7: Ted Byers, Johanna Reitsma, Bill Stacy, Sal Russo
- Region 8: Dan Cooper, Peter McClintock, Ian McColl, Edward Storey, (Chairman Geoff Henderson)
- Region 9: John Ward, Helen Dalton, Gai Marshall (plus one vacancy)
- Region 10: Andrew Forsyth, Rod Hatty, Martin Honner, Peter Campbell
- Region 11: Alix Turner, Ian Cargill, Garry Grant, Michael Green, (chairwoman Margaret Cameron)
- Region 12: Wayne Newton, Jim Maynard (plus two vacancies)
- Region 13: Kath Robb, Paul Shoker, John Ainsworth (also regional chairman), Deborah Willis.
- Five additional executive councilors elected with special qualifications included Chris Laurie, Chris Groves, Peter Darley, Tim Duddy, and Ron Cullen.
