The DSK Charolais Show Team Shed Sale will be held on Sunday March 29 from 7:15pm in the cattle pavilion at Sydney Showground.
CHANGING things up at the Sydney Royal this year is DSK Charolais and Angus studs, Coonabarabran.
At the inaugural DSK Charolais Show Team Shed Sale, the entire DSK Charolais team of five sires and five females will go under the hammer.
Three genetic packages will also be on offer including embryos and semen.
"Included will be five lots that are embryo calves representing our standout donor female Nandillyan A57E by proven sires such as LT Western Edge, Aga Khan and SVY Pilgrim," said Chris Knox, stud principal, DSK Charolais.
"Two progeny of DSK WW Estelle B9E are on offer including a very stylish Aga Khan daughter."
Mr Knox said B9E joined the DSK donor program after consistently producing top bulls at their annual sales including a strong bull class winner a the 2013 Charolais feature show at Sydney.
The remaining live lots include an impressive red-polled sire by Redsmoke and a productive red factor young cow by Gunnadoo You Little Ripper out of Pinnaroo Red Fairy Floss S74E.
"At foot she has a terrific polled heifer calf by LT Ledger that will impress many with her substance and outlook," Mr Knox said.
"The genetic packages are embryos sired by Pilgrim and from our large framed, soft made donor dam, Moongool Refine Z210E, who was the dam of the reserve intermediate female at the 2013 Charolais feature show.
"This year she has an outstanding show steer entered for the Sydney competition."
Mr Knox said the other embryo lot was sired by Pinay and was from donor DSK Wendy C31E who had an impressive show career following on from her dam and continuing the family Sydney success with her daughter being the 2013 grand champion Charolais female.
"This is a highly productive cow family that has proven itself in both the show and sale ring," Mr Knox said.
This new concept of an auction in the stalls will be following the NSW Charolais post judging social gathering and prize presentation.
The sale will be held in the cattle pavilion from 7.15pm on Sunday, March 29, with Landmark as the selling agents.
As well as their Charolais team, the entire DSK Angus show team of four bulls and two females will also be on offer through the RAS Angus sale held on the Saturday night, March 28, after the Angus judging.
"Our Angus team represents four sons and one daughter sired by impressive Canadian sire, Remitall Rachis, whose progeny continue to impress," Mr Knox said.
"DSK secured the sole Australian semen rights and all available semen in this great Angus bull and only two semen packages were ever released to other breeders.
"His daughters are impressing as productive cows and his sons continue to add strength, muscle and softness with frame and weight."
Mr Knox said an outstanding Sitz Upward daughter rounds out the DSK Angus team from the renowned DSK HU Panda W9 donor who in turn is a daughter of their Angus cow, DSK Panda R3.
"This heifer is sure to impress and was a division champion at the 2014 Dubbo All Breeds Heifer Show," Mr Knox said.
According to Mr Knox, both the Angus and Charolais teams represent some of the best genetics and stud potential that they have on offer for this year.
"It is the absolute cream of the 2015 crop in both breeds due to extensive and successful embryo transfer programmes we have undertaken," said Mr Knox.
The DSK Angus stud was started in 1989 with the DSK Charolais stud kicking off in 1994.
During that time the studs have bred and exhibited interbreed champions at Sydney, Brisbane, Melb-ourne and Canberra Royal shows.
The RAS Angus Sale is conducted by Elders in the Amphitheatre on Saturday, March 28.
