FOLLOWING on from the recent successful sale of Southern Highland Wines at Moss Vale, reported last fortnight, comes another vineyard offering benefiting from a restaurant space and the ability to produce high quality cool climate wines.
The offering is Lambert Vineyards, situated at Wamboin, west of Bungendore and not far from the NSW/ACT border.
Selling agent Colin Medway, Landmark Harcourts Capital, Yass, said given the offering comprises two dwellings, it would ideally suit a partnership between two families.
He said the property had a real live-in business appeal, enhanced by the fact that both houses were quite private in comparison to the public access offered by the restaurant and cellar door complex.
Mr Medway said enquiry had been coming from those who had appreciated the location in the Canberra/Sydney corridor.
For the past 24 years the property has been owned by the Steve and Ruth Lambert who had also established the vineyard, and so, as Mr Medway said, a new owners would be able to take advantage of an attractive opportunity with quality vines and excellent infrastructure.
The Lambert Vineyards brand is included in the sale, while a new owner will have the option to purchase existing wine stock.
He said the property features a restaurant and cellar door under one roof, " a state of the art" facility built in 2003 and with the capacity to seat 90 people in the dining area.
Lambert Vineyards covers 24 hectares (just under 60 acres) in total, with just over 7ha planted to vines.
The vineyard portion of the property has been planted to a range of varieties including Shiraz, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, and Riesling.
Wines have received a range of awards including from the Canberra Regional Wine Show, and at the NSW Wine Awards and Boutique Wines of Australia Wine Awards.
Since 2008, the vineyard has produced an average of 2.8 tonnes to the hectare, and an average annual total yield of 20.4t.
The vineyard benefits from sedimentary clay loam soils, as well as two bores and a 594 millimetre average annual rainfall.
Structures on the property include a machinery shed, the winery (established in 2003), the cellar door and restaurant complex featuring a commercial kitchen and office, as well as two homes - the first of brick veneer construction and with five bedrooms and built in 1999, the second also brick veneer, constructed in 1992, and with three bedrooms.
Lambert Vineyards is located under 12 kilometres from Wamboin.
It is listed for sale by expressions of interest with Mr Medway and Trish Brewer, Landmark Harcouts Capital, closing on December 10.
