YEARS of working at high-paying jobs on oil rigs and natural gas sites around the world have helped Peter Richards build up his family Angus weaner operation to what it is today.
As a construction supervisor, he worked in places ranging from Bass Strait oil rigs, and gas and oil operations in Bangladesh, the Bay of Bengal, South China Sea, Singapore, Jakarta and New Guinea.
Mr Richards, now 56, paid tribute to his wife Judy and his father and their three children who have run the farm while he was away.
“Julie and dad kept things turning over while I earned the money,” he said.
