UPDATE: Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for large hailstones, heavy rainfall and damaging wind for the Central Tablelands, South West Slopes, Australian Capital Territory and parts of the Hunter, Southern Tablelands, Central West Slopes and Plains, Riverina and Snowy Mountains forecast districts.
Issued at 8:06pm the Bureau said severe thunderstorms were likely to produce large hailstones, heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and damaging winds in the warning area in the next few hours.
Locations which may be affected include Orange, Mudgee, Bathurst, Canberra, Yass and Young.
Golf ball sized hail was reported at Queanbeyan at about 5pm.
The next warning is due to be issued by 11:10pm.

Issued at 4:14pm the bureau said severe thunderstorms were likely to produce large hailstones, heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and damaging winds in the warning area in the next few hours.
Locations which may be affected include Orange, Katoomba, Canberra, Goulburn, Cooma and Yass.
Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the South Coast district and the warning for this district is cancelled.
The next warning is due to be issued by 7:15pm.
