Mr Stonestreet bought the Narromine sale’s $141 top-priced Merino pen of 213 Merino ewes of Woodside blood 2½-year-old, bred by the Wass family’s Warrie Partnership, “Pine Clump”, Warren
He said he was happy to pay top price to find ewes that fit in with the rest of his mob.
“They’re just a good lot really - good size about them, good cover of wool,” he said.
“This is my main purchase of the year. I’m pretty happy with it.”
Mr Stonestreet, who runs 2000 head at “Fairview”, said the he generally expected the market to be deflated between December and March.
“It’s always down a bit this time of year, but things seem to pick up soon enough.”
