FEDERAL member for Parkes, Mark Coulton, has announced $2.59 million of funding will be directed towards better protecting NSW from the threat of bushfires.
The commonwealth-state funding will contribute $300,000 to the NSW Rural Fire Service for aerial firefighting supply tanks in the Warrumbungle, Moree Plains, Narromine, Gwydir and Narrabri local government areas.
The tanks form part of 43 projects being funded across NSW, which will support efforts to manage bushfire risks and fight fires.
Mr Coulton said an increase in aerial firefighting supply tanks will go a long way in assisting local communities to be more prepared towards bushfires.
