COSTING more than five dollars per dog every three months, Penny Holland, "Uungula" Wuuluman, believes maintaining a strict dog worming program is costly to the family business, however the consequences of not worming adequately outweigh this.
“It is costly, but crucial to our business and although I have not yet seeked advice about upping our worming program to monthly as suggested yet, I would reevaluate if provided with substantial information from our vet,” Mrs Holland said.
Adding to on-farm biosecurity, the upkeep of boundary fences and mustering techniques are top priority to add to protection against the spread of disease within the flock.
“The men work very hard at keeping boundary fences in top condition,” she said.
