THE newly appointed manager of the highly anticipated South Eastern Livestock Exchange (SELEX), Rod Bourlet, will bring a varied and vast knowledge of livestock to the table when it opens in mid-August.
Taking up as a stock and station agent from a young age with Pitt, Son and Bender, Yass, he then became a cattle buyer with P.D. Mulligans at Queanbeyan and Cowra before spending the next 15 years in the feedlot industry.
“The SELX complex is state-of-the-art and will service sellers from across a large area of New South Wales,” Mr Bourlet said.
He said one feature was the ability to put more livestock through.
“We can load the yards, sell the cattle, move them out, load again and possibly sell again,” he said.
