Australian Fodder Industry Association’s (AFIA) annual 2016 National Fodder Conference is just around the corner and the association is excited to preview for what’s in store, says industry development officer, Jesse Lourey.
Mr Lourey said the conference would be held from August 1-3 at Crown in Perth, Western Australia, for the first time in many years, bringing a stellar list of speakers, thought-provoking workshops and the best networking opportunity in Australia for anyone in the hay and silage industry.
“The theme for the 2016 conference is ‘Discover the Difference,’ this will bring a platform for thoughtful and ground breaking discussion on how to take your own fodder operation to the next level,” Mr Lourey said.
“If you are an AFIA conference regular, this year AFIA looks forward to providing a more professional and innovative conference than ever before.”
He said if you’re considering the conference for the first time, come to Perth and discover how the best in the business do things, create friendships, develop networks and experience it all in one of the most beautiful cities Australia has to offer.
“Our conference venue at Crown Perth, Burswood, is one of Western Australia’s premier event venues,” he said.
“AFIA will again be hosting two pre-conference workshops – the first of these workshops will look at the issue of heating hay; what causes it and what can we do about it. We are also running the Women in Fodder workshop again this year following last year’s successful session.”
Mr Lourey said the workshops were free to all conference delegates.
“In order to explore the conference theme ‘Discover the Difference’, AFIA has developed this year’s conference sessions with a focus on current trends and addressing the most relevant factors influencing success in the fodder industry in 2016,” he said.
“Our sessions are Farming for Change, the Road to Success, Exceeding the Vision, Strengthening the Fodder Community, Quality Fodder and Our Place.”
Mr Lourey said the speakers would be Dr J. Andre De Barros Teixeira, Dr Tom Chamberlain, Anika Molesworth and Adrian Lester.
