Highlights from day two of Southern Beef Week.

Adam Withers, manager Kenny's Creek Angus, Boorowa had on display 85 two-year-old bulls which will offered for sale on 7 September. He also had some stud females penned which will be for sale in November. Mr Withers reported a steady flow of visitors through the day, keen to look over the cattle in preparation for the stud's annual sales. Mr Withers said his participation in the annual Southern Beef Week is important in allowing exisiting and potential clients the opportunity to view his cattle without pressure. "It is a 'low key' casual day for people to inspect bulls without the sale pressure."

Jeremy Keust, Jessmondeen Angus, Bathurst, with Will Caldwell principal of Milwillah Angus, and Betty, AJ, and Maria Rocke, “Arden”, Adelong, inspecting Milwillah sale bulls during beef week. Milwillah will offer 100 bulls in their annual on-property bull sale August 24.

Matt  Houston, Wombat Hills Simmentals, Wombat, proudly inspecting a draft of the rising two-year-old bulls which are available for immediate sale. Mr Houston said there was a steady stream of visitors and reported strong enquiry from producers looking for a terminal sire. "Our quality continues to improve and we are very pleased to be able to present an even line of bulls for purchase," he said.

Birubi Limousin and Limflex Manager Glenn Trout, shows a selection of bulls to Matthew and Bill Smart, Gundagai. Birubi will offer 30 bulls, 15 females, 3 genetic packages, and 6 lots of commercial females at their annual on-property production sale Friday August 19.

Bill Cornell, ABS Australia, Henty, joins Nicole Hopkins of Wormbete Simmentals to inspect a selection of the Wormbete herd. Principals John and Nicole were excited to showcase the functionality of their Simmental herd, as well as displaying Bulls and Heifers earmarked for their 2017 production sale.

Elders Goulburn’s Steve Ridley joins Onslow’s Doug and Barbara Tozer, and Barry Peel, “Yukon Park”, Tarcutta, as they look over exciting young sire Onslow Regent L223 who will be offered on August 29 along with 59 other bulls in the Onslow spring bull sale.
