THE annual Commonwealth Bank AgQuip field days are often a farmer’s first look at a new product, and this year is no different.
But the 2016 event will offer much more opportunity for a hands-on look at products, with organisers, Fairfax Rural Events, stepping up to provide a large area designated for product demonstrations.
New technology products on display at this year’s special event includes drones, computer systems and software, control systems, farm security, global positioning systems, monitoring equipment, precision farming, precision planting equipment and solar technology.
Many exhibitors will take the opportunity to show visitors their products in action at the new demonstration area, while others will continue their on-site demonstrations.
Products featured in demonstrations include motorbikes, quad bikes and ATVs, four-wheel-drive vehicles, a driverless tractor, a self-propelled sprayer, airseeders, augers, bandsaws, fencing equipment and earthmoving equipment.
Fairfax Rural Events group manager Kate Nugent said AgQuip was the premier field day to get hands-on experience with products before making a purchase.
“Australian farmers are recognised as world leaders in best practice and efficiency and part of the reason for that is they are continually seeking out new products to help them work better and smarter on their properties,” she said.
“This year we are introducing the Drone Zone demonstration area, which will be located off the static display grid to provide farmers first-hand information and demonstrations on what drones are used for to benefit our primary producers, how to operate, as well as the safety training.”
