IF YOU can’t make it to the Sydney Royal Show on April 6 for the ALPA Young Auctioneers Competition, don’t think you have to miss out on seeing the action.
Once again The Land has partnered with Wild Colt Productions, Buladelah, to host a webcast of the event (which will also be uploaded to The Land’s website after the event to watch at your leisure).
That means anybody with internet access is able to watch the action live.
The Land livestock representative Kirra Bogan, Tamworth, said the popularity of the live stream continues to grow each year.
“Last year there were 5700 people tuned in to watch the competition live, then a further 7000 people watched the free event re-wind,” Ms Bogan said.
She said Rural Marketing Agents Network (rma network) and livestock selling complex, Wagga Wagga Livestock Marketing Centre (LMC), have come on board for their second year as partners to the live stream.
“In the past a large number of agents and competitor friends waited eagerly for a phone call, text message or facebook post to find out how their young agents fared at the the state and national competitions,” she said.
ALPA administration manager Lauren Jones, Sydney, said ALPA were pleased to be partnering with The Land for the third year in a row following the success of the live stream for the past two years.
“It is a highly anticipated event on the show program and an opportunity for people to engage with what agents around the country do every day,” she said.
Ms Jones said the beauty of live streaming is that it allows those who cannot attend the show to be able to tune into the event and provides a platform to showcase the auctioneering talent of our young agents to a wider community.
“With live streaming anybody in the world could watch them compete,” she said.
“ALPA is a national body and it is important to us that all our members and their clients get to see what happens in the Big Top Amphitheater at the show each year.”
In addition to live streaming the ALPA competition, The Land will also bring the live action of the Limousin feature breed judging (Friday, April 7 and Saturday, April 8, The Land Sydney Royal Showgirls and Rural Achievers presentation (Sunday, April 9) and the coveted Sydney Royal interbreed judging (Monday, April 10).
These additional events are proudly brought to you by The Land, Fairfax Livestock and rma network.
