Gary Johns from Landmark Harcourts in Mackay was named the company’s top rural sales consultant. Gary has long been a high achiever, securing the same award in 2012 and 2013.
Darryl Langton from Landmark Harcourts in Roma came in as runner-up with David Woodhouse from Landmark Harcourts in Charters Towers in third place.
Saturday night also saw the introduction of the Dick Larkin Memorial Award, in memory of a man who took teamwork, commitment and dedication to clients to the next level.
Darryl said it was a “true honour to be recognised in conjunction with Dick.”
“Gary, Darryl and David have done particularly well in a market where properties are hitting the market less frequently and quality rural properties are in high demand,” said Jason Michelmore, real estate manager Queensland for Landmark Harcourts.
Mr Michelmore said the Landmark Harcourts Benchmark Report supported this, indicating that during the 12 months to November 2016, 1620 agricultural properties sold across regional Queensland, a decrease of 6.8 per cent on the previous 12 months. However, the total value of sales increased by 7.8pc to $1.8 billion over the same period.
“Looking forward, the year ahead is set to be another big one for the Queensland team with a number of substantial listings currently available,” Mr Michelmore said.
Glendalough Station, a 1800ha irrigated farming property located near Hughenden, goes to tender early June.
“It’s unique in the fact it is a low cost commercial irrigation farm with an abundant and perpetual water supply. It has the potential of four fold expansion with surety of low cost water supply," David Woodhouse said.
Box Flat is another outsanding opportunity currently available in Taroom. Listed by David McPaul and Joe Keppel from Landmark Taroom, the property will go to auction in late June.
“This 7666ha developed fattening property will run 2500 steers and offers great scale in an area renowned as excellent cattle country,” David said.
Vergemont, a 352,589ha grazing property located near Longreach, has been listed for sale for $11 million with Darryl Langton.
“A uniquely productive property in all seasons and rated to 10,000 head, presents very lightly stocked and would immediately handle 4000 head of cattle,” Darryl said.
Listings and awards aside, Landmark Harcourts activity in the region doesn’t stop there.
Mr Michelmore said the Landmark Harcourts brand was focused on growth and was actively recruiting for sales specialists and franchise owners to join the existing network of 160 locations.
“Now is an opportune time to join Australia’s leading regional and rural real estate brand,” he said.
