For the 71st GSSM, 52 stud and specially selected rams offered 39 sold to top $12,000 and sale average $3,192.
Top price was paid by HM Barty and Sons, “Beverley”, Redesdale, Victoria for a ram bred in the Ringmaster syndicate by Wal and George Merriman, “Merryville”, Borrowa.
Measuring 17.2 microns, with SD 2.2 the August 2015 drop and March-shorn ram was bought through Brad Wilson, Landmark studstock, Dubbo.
Second top price ram was also paid for a Merryville-bred ram.
Purchased through Landmark studstock, Michael Green, “Boudjah”, Cooma paid $10,000 for the Poll Merino ram.
Other good prices included $7000 paid for a Poll Merino ram bred and offered by Doug Walker, Wongara Poll, Old Junee and $5000 paid twice for Merino rams offered by the Merryville stud, Boorowa.
Paul Walton, Wurrook stud, Rokewood, Victoria also sold a Merino ram for $5000: Jonathon Dalla, Orrie Cowie, Warooka, SA sold a Poll Merino ram for $5000.
