FROM the competitive nature of red meat’s international markets to drones, eating quality and fake meat – if it affects beef and sheepment production it has been on the agenda at a big industry event in Canberra this week.
The four-day gathering of representatives from throughout the red meat supply chain, organised by Meat and Livestock Australia and called Red Meat 2018, is now the largest annual event on livestock producers’ calendars.
A highlight this year was a dinner on Tuesday night reflecting on the industry’s achievements over the past 20 years and the challenges ahead.
Special guests speakers were John Anderson and David Crombie.
Red Meat continues today and tomorrow with special sessions on digital technology and farm tours.
