Participants in the Beef Spectacular Feedback Trial were offered the option to compete on the national stage in the ANZ National Beef Carcase Competition, which is part of Beef 2018.
Of the 95 teams entered in the Feedback Trial, coordinator Brett Tindal said 64 teams concurrently entered the Beef 2018 competition.
He said it made sense for the participants to have the ability to enter the Beef 2018 competition, as Teys Australia and Fairfax Agricultural Media were also partners of Beef 2018, to be held next year in May at Rockhampton, Queensland.
“Vendors simply needed to attend the field day on November 22 and select the three steers to enter the competition,” he said.
“Our team will do the paperwork and entries for both competitions and our vendors can gain the experience and feedback from both competitions.”
The cattle are all graded by a Meat Standards Australia grader, and results announced at Beef 2018.
