THE Evans family of Tara Park Merino stud, Boorowa, held their on-property ram sale today selling 88 of the 90 rams offered to an average of $1623.

The top price was slightly up from last year for an 89-kilogram ram selling for $7400 to brothers Patrick and Andrew Davis of Demondrille Merino stud, “Fairview”, Harden.
The ram, sired by 74 47, had a fleece test of 19.2-micron, 3.2-micron standard deviation (SD), 17.2 per cent co-efficient of variation (CV), and 99.2pc comfort factor (CF).
The Davis brothers said the ram had good wool growing skin, great length, and a good sirey head.
Long time clients of 20 years, the Mattiske family, “Sunnydale”, Forbes, were volume buyers purchasing seven rams to a top of $1600 and $1285.
Principal of Tara Park, Guy Evans, said he was happy with how the sale had finished up.
“The top price ram was a well balanced sheep,” Mr Evans said.
“It was one of the better line-up of rams we have had.
“It was pleasing to see a good roll up of loyal return clients as well as some new faces too.”
The sale was conducted by Elders and Landmark of Goulburn with Rick Power, Landmark Boorowa sharing the rostrum with Steve Ridley, Elders Goulburn.
